Massage Information Many years ago, the Ancients used massage when natural touch was the only way to soothe and heal.  In Egypt, India, and the Orient, the literature speaks volumes about the benefits of this wonderful technique.  Now, thousands of years later, massage is being touted as the new way to healing and relaxation!

This resurgence of interest in massage has opened many new avenues of treatment.  Massage can be found in spas and gyms, playing fields and Olympic events.  Many medical facilities, from medical and dental offices to major hospitals,  offer massage services as part of the healing process.

Scientific research on how massage affects the body and mind has given rise to many new schools of thought and complementary modalities.  Such
research is ongoing in many labs and clinics throughout the world.  New advances enable the therapist to enhance his/her skills with a wide variety of continuing education programs.  It is exciting to be part of such an ancient craft that is still growing!

Professional massage therapists rely on many skills gained not only in the classes that are required for licensure and continuing education, but also from each person they touch.  Not least among a therapist's skills is the will and desire to help others and to go the extra mile to ensure they are the best they can be.
